Aart Mookhoek completed his specialist training in pathology in Amsterdam (Netherlands). After his residency, he performed a two-year fellowship in gastrointestinal pathology in Amsterdam. During this time, he engaged in gastrointestinal research in close collaboration with academic partners in pathology, gastroenterology and surgery. In 2021, he joined the Pathology Institute in Bern as a pathologist. He continues to pursue his interests in gastrointestinal pathology, in combination with his love for teaching and research. His research focus is the investigation of inflammatory bowel disease from the perspective of the pathologist.
